After meeting with lots of prospective clients, I started noticing some common questions, so I decided to add a Frequently Asked Questions section to the website. If you have a question that isn’t listed and answered on here, please feel free to EMAIL ME.

I’ll respond to your FAQ, ASAP.

What do I need to start building my website?

You need three things:

A Domain Name – A domain name is what your visitors will type in the address bar to find you (for example: is my domain name). A .com domain name is the most commonly used extension. There are many other extensions (.net, .org, .gov, .edu, .tv, etc). You can do a quick search for a and purchase a domain name at

A Web Hosting Company – A web hosting company is like your space that you lease for your business except it’s on the web. This is where all of your website files go. If you don’t know who to use for web hosting, I have a company and you can get started there today.

A Professional Web Designer – Last but not least. If you made it this far then hopefully I’m your man for the job.

Do you design and develop websites for businesses only located in Texas?

I prefer to work with people in my area. I travel frequently and office in Nacogdoches-Texas, Chicago-Illinois and Mysore, India. If you’re within in a 25 mile radius of those cities then I can find a way to meet with you face to face. However it’s not imperative for us to meet face to face but I do know some clients prefer that. I have built many sites for clients all over the world who I have never even spoken to in person so it is possible. I am always available by phone, email, skype, UPS, FedEx, snail mail, you name it. If you want me to build your site there is always a way!

Is there a limit to the number of pages I can have on my web site?

There is really no limit to the number of pages on your site. Some of the pages you’ll want to consider are: Home, About, Gallery, Portfolio, Contact, FAQ’s. In addition to these pages, you’ll want some complimentary pages as well to enhance and expand on your main pages. For example, you may want to add a testimonial page or a pages to describe all your services in depth. If you are looking to sell products or services on your site I can set up all those pages as well.

How much does a website normally cost?

This is the #1 question everyone ask, but your website won’t cost you that much. My WordPress sites start at $1750 and the price changes as you add on other services (SEO, Commerce Software, Site Maintenance, etc.) Sure you could spend $500 with somebody else, but you should expect exactly what you get. With your help in generating content for your business, I can help you make your investment in your website back and then some.

How fast can you build my web site?

I can build a simple 5-10 page website in 5 days (or less) from the time you supply your information for the project. Most all of my websites have taken less than 2 weeks to complete because of timely correspondence. If you don’t send me the information for your website quickly it could take a several years. I won’t bug you constantly to get me your information for your site but I will gently nudge you since I don’t get fully paid until the site is complete :). I make it my mission to meet all your deadlines once I have all your information so you wont have to “gently nudge” me.

How much do you charge for maintenance plans?

I build sites for my clients so they can manage them themselves but if you are like most of my clients you are not very familiar with Content Management Systems much less WordPress®. For those clients that have asked me to update their website and help improve their search engine ranking I have set up custom Maintenance Plans based on the amount of time I need to spend on their sites. Some clients that have on online e-commerce business and need their site backed up and updated almost everyday and they will obviously pay more for maintenance than the informational site that only needs to be updated once a month.

Ask me for an exact quote when we begin work on your site. Once I see what it is going to take to build your site the way you want it I can give you a more accurate quote for monthly/yearly maintenance. To see what all is included in a maintenance plan please click here.

What is Responsive Design vs. a Mobile Website?

The short answer is that they provide very similar end results. The website visitor is able to experience the website on a mobile device in a friendly and easy-to-user manner. A mobile website is generally know as “older technology” and responsive design is newer technology. A mobile website design is typically a separate website that is designed for a mobile phone. Mobile websites were popular pre-tablet era. Responsive design incorporates best practices to adapt screen specific configurations. Content displays differently on various screens as widths adapts, or responds, to the screen resolution the website is being viewed on.

I only develop RESPONSIVE sites since Mobile Webites are an outdated technology . Responsive design is included in your quote for ALL my websites.

If you use for hosting, you are provided with website visitor stats. Once you log into your admin panel of your WordPress site you will see all your analytics on the admin dashboard. Google Analytics gives really detailed visitor stats like city, state, what keywords they typed, what search engine they used, etc. Google Analytics even let you compare months.

Yes, I can.

I just need to have the FTP login information, and if you have a WordPress site, I’ll need the admin login and passwords as well.

If you design my website, will I find my website on the search engines?

Your website will eventually be indexed by search engines. I do a little bit optimizing with your title tags. If you want me to do search engine optimization work on your site, I’ll set up local directory listings, build links, add relevant keywords, and more.

Can you get my website on the 1st page?

I can’t promise 1st page results on search engines (no one can, or should), but I can tell you that I have gotten clients on the 1st page for relevant keywords, responsive design social network linking and other good SEO practices. It is a team effort. You provide me with information (words, photos, videos) about your business, and I will optimize it for you. If you’re not willing to talk about your business, then I can’t help you. This sounds easy, but it is not. The best way to keep your site relevant and moving up the Goggle search results after I build it and implement all the SEO is to always be adding relevant information tom your site (i.e. Blogging).
